Qualifying exam for the Civil Engineering study programme.
Main purpose
The purpose of the course is to give the participants an understanding of the engineer’s role and tasks when working as a consultant engineer, a client and as a contracting engineer.
Knowledge
After the course, the participants should have an understanding and knowledge of the engineer’s role and tasks when working as a consultant engineer, a client and as a contracting engineer.
The participants will gain knowledge on different companies within the construction industry.
Furthermore, the participant will gain knowledge on different job opportunities for civil engineers.

3 days, placed during 4th semester.
Excursions and company visits:
• Consultant engineering company
• Client
• Contracting company/ construction site
• Asphalt factory and/or gravel pit
• City walk
Report
Students must hand in a report for every single excursions and company visit.

Examination
The course is evaluated on the basis of participation in the following topics together with reporting of each of the activities.
In order to pass the course, the students must participate in 90% of the study activities and obtain an approval in all reports.
