My design
Nomen is a modern take on a display cabinet. The idea behind my design was to make a furniture where you can exhibit your personal belongings. The tambour doors and the secret space add elements where you have the ability to change the content and decide what you want to show and hide.
My inspiration
By displaying our personal belongings, we tells others about us, but there is always a hidden truth. Therefore, the choice was a display cabinet with tambour doors to make it adjustable and you get to decide what you want to display and hide.
I want to tell a story where form and function meet each other. I have always had a great penchant for sculptural objects and a desire to bring this into interaction with furniture. Aesthetics and furniture are of great importance in our everyday lives, and I wish to help celebrating this everyday with my offer of aesthetic, functionalistic furniture design. Signe Kjærgaard
