In this class, we start by understanding what the DNA of a brand means and how to identify it, with clear examples of brands with distinct DNA. The students will be introduced to techniques for identifying the DNA of a specific brand through shapes, colors and aesthetics. Together we will create a mind map with descriptive words which are loyal to the brand. After the introduction, the students, in groups, will start creating a fashion collage inspired by the brand provided. They will learn how to choose relevant fabrics and how to incorporate sustainable practices when designing a garment from the beginning. The students will get an understanding of how idea generation works and how to think from different perspectives when designing.
