How do you take a problem and develop an effective solution for it? There is a certain creative process, of first deconstructing the problem, identifying main elements, brainstorming possible solutions and then actually implementing the solutions. This methodology is the foundation of software engineering, as well as many other academic fields. In this topic, I wish to lay the foundations for creative thinking, as it plays a huge role when studying to become a software engineer. Students will be invited to creatively solve a simple challenge, related to app development, and through this they will find out, first-hand, how creative insight and a little teamwork can show amazing results. Hopefully, this experience will reveal an amazing aspect of engineering, that is often not talked about.
